Welcome to The Shalimar Resort
The Spanos Family has been serving The Lakes Region for over 50 years in the hospitality business.
It all began in 1952 when The Spanos Family opened The Shangri-La Resort on Lake Winnipesaukee. They owned and operated the famous year-round resort for 18 years hosting many celebrities including the Kennedy family, Groucho Marx, The Beach Boys and John Lennon.
In the 70’s the family business included Lake Shore Park, The Stage Inn and Gilford Playhouse as well.
Deciding to stay in the hospitality business, The Shalimar Resort on beautiful Lake Winnisquam was acquired in 1983 which has been a year-round family resort for over 25 years.
The Spanos family, now in its third generation welcomes you to stay with them as their guests. We are confident you will enjoy your stay and return for many happy memories.
